The first consequences of Nasrollah’s speech: Al-Hariri – Aoun dialogue

Written by Nasser Kandil,

There are several messages which the speech of Al-Sayyed Hassan Nasrollah has included, and which their repercussions and reactions have affected several issues that are not all related to the presidential issue, but what is important in the presidential issue is that the speech of Al-Sayyed Nasrollah has inserted it within a national realistic framework that is bigger and far from using it as an area for bidding, achieving small gains and recording factional points. The presidential maturity is a national constitutional maturity. These two dimensions are an occasion that must be accomplished nationally, constitutionally, and realistically at a highest level of the national consensus.

This puts all the calls which express a degree of the belittlement, carelessness, and political lightness aside, these calls which suppose or call for the possibility of achieving the maturity according to the equation “ Go to the parliament and let the one who gets the highest number of votes win” The one who has prevented the parliamentary elections two years and a half ago as an anticipation of the presidential maturity date in order to avoid the electoral surprises and an awareness of the impossibility of postponing electing a president through a newly elected parliament on one hand, and the easiness of extending the mandate of a president with a parliament that is extended to itself on the other hand will not facilitate the election with unknown results and unknown winner, After all of what has happened this is not a deprecated issue, but it is a classification and an admission of a truth that becomes extensive for all the teams, the quorum is achieved and thus the election upon broad agreement on the name of the president.

The image which Al-Sayyed Hassan Nasrollah drew shows three contiguous intergraded equations. First, our candidate whom we are committed to and work on his arrival is the General Aoun, Second, the General Aoun cannot be elected without a partnership that ensures the quorum realistically on one hand, and ensures a smooth effective starting of the new era on the other hand, the center of this desired partnership is related to computability with Al-Mustaqbal Movement on the nomination of the General Aoun. Third, the Deputy Suleiman Franjieh is a normal qualified candidate but the talking about the candidacy seriously is not probable as long as the General Aoun is a candidate. The entrance of this circulation starts by the General Aoun who has alone the ability of making this nomination a realistic project with the satisfaction, and the acceptance of giving him the opportunity of the serious circulation.

The three equations draw a framework for launching the presidential elections, it is a realistic and a national framework which must cling to,  and not to deal with it as a dilemma and a point of weakness, because it gives the presidency and what is coming next as the project of the advancement of the country and the homeland indispensable conditions for success, this framework based on the existential need which the maturity requires for making an understanding between two national pillars where there is no presidency without them realistically and there is no presidency without them nationally they are the General Michael Aoun and the Prime Minister Saad Al-Hariri.

The acceptance of the General Aoun of the nomination of Franjieh, or the acceptance of Al-Haririr of the nomination of the General Aoun  are two hypotheses which  one of them must be available in order to have a presidency, country and a homeland. The General Aoun as a strong presidential candidate has a supported nomination by two main teams of the political conflict in the country, he is concerned of them and in need of their support and help as he is concerned directly without them, he has this support to be nominated by managing a dialogue about his nomination with the Prime Minister Al-Hariri and doing all the best in order to promote this nomination and turning it into an achievable project. Since the Prime Minister Al-Hariri is the head of the largest bloc in the parliament, so he is concerned in the openness on the largest Christian bloc in this parliament and in managing a serious fruitful dialogue with the head of this bloc; the General Aoun for producing a presidential nomination that has the broadest chance to win, then going on together showing the outcome of this dialogue to the other parties, how the Prime Minister Al-Hariri the owner of the nomination of the Deputy Franjieh and the way for the passage of this obligatory nomination is the gateway for the consensus and the support for the General Aoun, as well as his satisfactory within an agreement requires from the owner of the nomination and within his responsibility to seek to accomplish it.

The way becomes passable and ready to have a dialogue on which the accomplishment of the maturity and the saving of the homeland depend. Al-Sayyed Hassan Nasrollah has put his importance for launching this dialogue in a credible, transparent, and serious way from its two parts. The steps of success are available no matter how long the dialogue will last, even if it  penetrates into electoral talks legally, alliances, projects, and governmental perceptions and an incursion into details including the leadership of the army as an integral part for trust compatibility, which some refuse or afraid to call it a package. This dialogue of necessity must become a dialogue of will even if it stops and freezes at some regional pitfalls, because at the end it is the only bill of insurance and the only passport toward presidency and toward the country and the homeland.
